What is HHC Oil?

HHC oil is a hydrogenated form of THC that is used to alleviate the symptoms of chronic pain, inflammation, and arthritis.

What it is

HHC oil is an option for those who use cannabis, but do not want to inhale the intoxicating effects of marijuana. This makes HHC oil a possible option for those who are looking for pain relief without the high. This type of cannabis does not contain any psychoactive ingredients and cannot be used recreationally.

What it does

HHC oil is made from pure THC combined with an artificial form of the chemical called hydrogenated hydrocarbon. This unique combination allows HHC oil to be applied topically in the form of a salve, capsule, vaporizer or a tincture. This pure THC combined with an artificial chemical compound makes up HHC oil.

How it works

The chemical compound that is found in HHC oil is called cannabinol (CBN). CBN has a chemical structure that is similar to the THC found in marijuana. CBN is sprayed into an edible or oil which, when swallowed, reaches the endocannabinoid system of the human body. Commendable THC levels will be present in your body shortly after ingesting HHC oil.

The endocannabinoid system of your body makes up what is referred to as your natural cannabis phyto-cannabinoid system (known as the CB2 receptors). The CB2 receptors are found throughout the central nervous system of the human body. These receptors are responsible for maintaining homeostasis (stability).

The CB2 receptors can be found in various parts of your body and brain, but their main location is in the brain. It is believed that using HHC oil will stimulate an increase in endocannabinoid activity; therefore stimulating a more intense state of relaxation as well as providing pain relief.

The FDA has classified THC as a Schedule I drug. In April 2018, the FDA sent a letter to companies stating that if their products contain cannabidiol (CBD), they must be classified as Schedule I substances, which includes heroin and LSD.

This prohibition of HHC oil means it cannot be used as a recreational item; however, it can be used to reduce chronic pain and inflammation.

How HHC oil is made

HHC oil is made by removing the psychoactive ingredients from marijuana. Next, a hydrogenating process is applied to this marijuana compound in order to create HHC oil.

Hydrogenation

The process of hydrogenating involves combining an organic substance with hydrogen and causing a chemical reaction. Hydrogenation is the process of converting unsaturated bonds into saturated bonds. This allows for the creation of trans-fats, which are found in many processed foods and oils.
